Our beach is a great spot to launch a kayak, head out on a stand-up paddle board, or sit and relax on a beach chair and watch the sun set. It offers some of the best snorkeling experiences on the island.
The surf is very calm and safe for children, all year long.
There are no public parking lots, public showers or restrooms nearby. As a result, this beach is serenely quiet and feels like it’s your own private beach.
A Beach Trifecta - Swim, Snorkel, Relax
Our beach has one of the best, most vibrant coral reefs. The reef extends hundreds of yards into the ocean, staying shallow, and offering some of the best snorkeling experiences on the island. This reef section is centered at our beach entrance. Just to the left of the reef, is a sandy soft bottom area to swim. The turtle nesting area has lots of pebbles, but off the the left are wide open soft sandy areas to spread out your towel.
This photo can be deceiving because the water is so clear. Where the pink arrows point the water is already several feet deep. And again, notice how few people are on our beach.
There are three sections with soft sandy bottoms and gradually deepening waters.
We have snorkels, masks and goggles available for your use. We have adult and children’s life vests, as well as beach chairs, umbrellas, shade tents, big beach towels, coolers and boogie boards.
A local shop can deliver stand-up paddle boards to our backyard for you to head out for some exercise each morning. Our concierge can coordinate that for you.
During whale season, you’ll consistantly see humpback whales playing and splashing in the ocean from our upper deck. You can even see them from bed, while sitting-up in your master bedroom that over looks the ocean. We have a spotting scope on the deck for a closer look.
The Hawaiian Sea Turtle - Honu
Thought to live between 60 and 80 years, the Honu is a symbol of longevity, safety, and mana (spiritual energy) in Hawaiian culture. Their presence brings good luck and peace. The Honu is considered a form of ‘aumakua‘ or ancestral spirit offering lifelong protection, wisdom and guidance. Honu are depicted in ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs, artwork and mythology and represent the eternal link between man, land and sea.
Sadly, there are only a few locations left on the island quiet enough for the Hawaiian Sea Turtle to nest. Every evening, shortly after sunset, dozens of sea turtles climb to the sandy shores of our beach to sleep each night; leaving shortly after sunrise each morning.
Easy to watch, but please never approach them. This is one of the few beach spots tranquil enough for them to sleep.
No one wanted to leave. After our family left, we stayed another week but moved up to the Lāhainā area thinking it was where we “should be” for our Honeymoon. We can honestly say that we wished that we had stayed the remainder of the week at the villa. The studio was a perfect spot for a couple. We had a bit of space from the family when needed but could pop right over and hang out either upstairs or downstairs. We missed the property and the beach outside the property so much that we made our way back down to Kihei, parked near the villa and sat on the beach for an hour or so before heading to the airport!

We were an extended family of 14 ages 5 to 79 and everyone found the villa to be delightful for their needs. Unlike what so often happens, the advertisement of a beach front property, the pictures, and the descriptions of the villa on the web are exactly as portrayed or better!

We all concluded that our favorite thing about the place was probably sitting on the lanai watching the whales while drinking our coffee in the morning and then again watching the amazing sunsets while we cooked supper and had a few cocktails. The fact that you can open the sliding glass/screen doors all the way to make the kitchen, dining/living area, and the lanai all seem like one big room made it feel like you were never crowded and nobody was left out whether they were working in the kitchen, sitting on the couch or out on the lanai.

The house is beautiful. Everyone of our guests had their own space in the 3 different apartments. The upper level contains the master with great views of the ocean. The upper deck is an amazing space. We hired a chef one night and had dinner out there. It was the best night of our trip. Watching the sunset during dinner was a memory we will always cher- ish. Best features: 1. The turtles that come up onto the beach directly in front of the house every night. Magical. 2. The apartment on the lower part of the house. If you have a couple who needs a bit more privacy, this is the spot. 3. When we checked out, we had no responsibilities. They donate any food left behind. The owners/managers are truly top notch. The service was amazing in every way. Can’t say enough good things. Thank you!

The beach was perfect for small children, nice and shallow with some good waves for boogie boarding in the afternoons.

Sea turtles climb onto the shore each evening directly behind the villa. Watch the whales from the deck with the binoculars provided.

Words can not express how magical & wonder- ful this house was for our family. Waking up to the beautiful view of the ocean. Seeing the sea turtles come to shore was so amazing. The house was so clean and organized. Everything you need was there.

The house is amazing. I’ve stayed in many places around Maui, and this one tops it. The location is incredible, being on the beach and walking distance to anything you need. And the cleanliness of the place is next level. The beach is awesome. We spent a lot of time down there, in the water and walking up and down the beach.

One enduring memory was falling asleep on the very comfortable master bedroom bed with the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves breaking on the beach a few hundred feet away.
